Lynda Burgess

Working within the accounts team, Lynda is one of the founding members of the company, having set it up with her husband, Edward, brother Trevor and sister in law, Lisa.

Originally appointed company secretary, she undertook further training and moved into accounts. Today, she has overall responsibility for managing the day-to-day accounts, producing management accounts and liaising with our accountants and directors.

Prior to setting up Vernacular Homes, Lynda worked for a firm of solicitors, as a receptionist and typist, during which time she married Edward. Soon after, she moved to a PA position, supporting a sales manager in a company that manufactured and sold chemicals until she left to have their first son, Oliver, who is now our contracts manager.

Later, while bringing up their four boys, Lynda worked on the accounts for her husband’s business, before returning to work with a local building company in a health and safety role.
