Christian Warrell

Christian’s career has taken an unusual route into construction, giving him a unique blend of technical understanding, project leadership and practical problem‑solving. After studying engineering, he spent more than 20 years in the travel industry in crisis management, contracting and product development – experience that now underpins the organised, solution‑driven way he delivers complex building projects.

He moved into construction in 2019 with a principal contractor, managing schemes ranging from luxury developments to heritage restorations. Key projects included the redevelopment of the Royal Victoria Hospital in Folkestone, involving demolition of mid‑century extensions, full restoration of the original 1899 building and its conversion into 18 high‑end apartments. Delivered during lockdown, the project required careful neighbour liaison, dust‑management strategies and sensitive preservation of historic features. Christian made special efforts to preserve and incorporate some of the building’s commemorative stone plaques and a rare, dumb waiter mechanism discovered during the demolition phase.

He also oversaw the construction of eight luxury flats overlooking Hythe – a technically demanding project with piling works, advanced waterproofing systems and new building technologies. Another standout project was the refurbishment of the visitor centre at HMP Elmley, coordinating closely with prison staff and volunteers to replace an ageing conservatory, install air-conditioning, new flooring and decorating, working in a live environment whilst minimising disruption.

Outside of work, he enjoys reading, yoga, swimming, spending time outdoors and taking on new challenges.
